Mona’s is a neighborhood gay bar with a quirky decor known for hosting events to increase money for community groups.
Owned by Jerry Schultz, Mona’s Cocktail Lounge & Lisa’s Backyard has been a popular gathering spot and local watering hole since 1997.
Stop in any afternoon for a great icy beverage, a game of pool, or to dangle out on the patio. Great priced drinks and friendly bartenders round out the specials at this pet-friendly drinking spot.
Mona’s is open daily at noon.

MR RAMROD
2025

Ramrod, started in 1994, has always been a heavy-duty cruise bar, and the Miami Herald says “the vibe is cool and friendly (no attitude here)… This is a man’s prevent. The decor is dark and gritty” in its possess unique way.

It was one of the first bars to jumpstart the North Fort Lauderdale / Wilton Manors queer district. It’s customers are not all about leather… but Ramrod was voted world’s Best Prevent (Leather Category) by GayCities.com. and also the most famous.

International Mr. Leather Challenge in Chicago has had Ramrod sponsored contestants capturing the title twice, winning second runner up twice as well; on the podium more than any other bar or organization. Ramrod’s stamp defines the club as a “levi, leather, uniform bar;” but on any given night you’re bound to locate musclebears, hunks, “butch” twinks / boys looking for daddys, and a mixture of anything and everything in between. If you don’t feel like that suit and tie fits in– just take it off– half of the guys won’t be wearing any shirt at all anyway.

How to Receive There: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

There are lots of ways to get to Hollywood. The fastest and easiest is by air. However, if air move isn’t your thing, check out your other options.

Planes:Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is the closest, just a brief drive away. Miami International Airport (MIA) is also nearby, offering more flight options and international connections.

Trains: Amtrak provides rail service to Hollywood, with a station conveniently located in the town, making it optimal for those traveling from within Florida or from other states on the East Coast.

Automobiles: Hollywood is easily available via major highways, including Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike
