The Lesbian, Gay, Attracted to both genders, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) Advisory Board, under the Office of Community Advocacy, will hold their monthly board meeting from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the Miami-Dade County Commission Chambers, second floor, 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, FL 33128. The Homosexual & Lesbian Community Center of South Florida (GLCCSF) is an organizing coerce within the gay, womxn loving womxn, bisexual, transgender community, serving as a source for information, education, advocacy and support.

The Center works to foster the personal development and quality of life of the community it serves, as well as to grow understanding and acceptance within the greater South Florida community.

History
In 1993, philanthropist and lgbtq+ pioneer, Alan Schubert had an idea that in Ft. Lauderdale, a Same-sex attracted and Lesbian Community Center would provide a harmless place for all to meet. A center that would provide assistance to existing organizations born from the liberation battle and new groups in require of support so that all facets of the gay and lesbian group would be served. He shared his enthusiasm and vision with 200 volunteers and donors so that the dream became a reality. From closets into living rooms, from backgrounds into church basements, the Gay and Lesbian Group Center of South Florida has emerged as a status of pride, under-pinned with h

Our Programs

Recognizing that the entire LGBTQ+ community has the right to quality care, our mission is to provide critical being assistance and professional mental health services with an emphasis on economically disadvantaged, marginalized youth, adults, and seniors in the greater South Florida metropolitan area.

SunServe is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social services agency serving the womxn loving womxn, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, culturally relevant care for all with an emphasis on those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, HIV+ persons, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. We also offer myriad education and training services.

Even today, LGBTQ individuals meet health disparities and societal stigma that make the assistance SunServe provides critical to the well-being of our communities.
