I heard your gay sectet life of an american teeanger
It’s so refreshing to monitor a show from years past and be thrilled with its handling of gay representation. So often we see LGBTQ+ characters exploited to the max, with sidekicks reduced to flamboyant stereotypes of lgbtq+ best friends or other mostly offensive roles. We’ve evolved past the Male lover Best Friend Trope, we can lead films. Jonathan Bailey is proving that as he’s rumored to be the new (stunning) face of the Jurassic Park series. Even now, with writers' rooms predominantly favoring white and cis nepo babies, there is a spectrum of how people are authentically portrayed on TV and things seem to be moving in better directions.
Griffin’s Going Great!
A great ethics is Griffin, introduced in season 2. He befriends Amy’s snarky and drain sister, Ashley, becoming her first-ever friend. How sweet! Griffin admits that he learned to fight after being bullied and now knows how to rise up for himself. He’s masculine and ‘straight-passing’, which is such a contrast to how gay characters were presented in 2009 at the time this was airing. Don’t acquire me wrong, who doesn’t love Eli from Girls, Andrew Rannells is
The Wife:
The potential adoption saga over on SLOTAT continues. Amy, Ben and Ricky meet to hash out the details of a potential adoption, while Ann meets with the Rev. Stone to discuss potential couples to adopt Amy’s baby and George gets sweet-talked into circumventing both of these plans by his store manager Donovan and his lover Leon, who would favor to adopt the baby.
Ann’s conversation with Rev. Stone turns up bust when he reveals that he had promised Ashley he would try to converse to her about not getting a divorce and therefore allowing Amy to keep the toddler. Amy and Ben’s conversation with Ricky doesn’t go so well, either. Ricky remains dead arrange against adoption, promising to be a part of his son’s life, while Ben wonders how having Ricky around will impact his relationship with Amy. Feeling as though no one will let her build her own conclusion, Amy gets all passive aggressive and scary and lets Ricky and Ben decide for her. Ricky urges Ben to think through his commitment to Amy, and by the end of “Chocolate Cake,” the two are on the rocks.
George’s adoption conversation has the most success, largely because he didn’t

Last week I posted a fast note to let you know that I did in fact watch the season finale of Confidential Life, but that I couldn’t yet review it because it was THAT not OK. I mind I had endured a lot of ridiculousness in my time given the fact that I observe almost anything and everything on TV, but really nothing could have prepared me for the hour (well actually more because I had to retain pausing due to unbearable spouts of uncomfortableness) of my life that ABC Family ruined with the finale of season four. Anyway, I am now ready to review this monstrosity of an episode. Within the first ten seconds I am already in pain. Grace asks Jack what they are talking about in the huddle if they aren’t praying, and we flash to a bunch of fake high school football players discussing that they are all in value with Grace. They claim that if they don’t talk about Grace before the game, they misplace. Are you kidding me? I get that Jack is a big pansy and won’t make a move on Grace, but really? The entire team? Even the gay guy? I can’t fathom thi
Erin and Jesse are so fun together and create great points about the best worst show ever. The show has its ups and downs but Erin and Jesse are consistently awesome. I long for they would come advocate and finish talking about the rest of the series.
Im embarrassed to tell I watched this exhibition from start to finalize. It was ridiculous. Still in season 1, but I’m really enjoying your take on it.
This present was always a culpable pleasure of mine so it’s refreshing to notice a HILARIOUS viewpoint of this show, along with catching small details I missed along the way. Erin and Jesse’s teasing with one another is endearing and effortlessly comedic. If you’re a fan of SLOTAT for all the wrong reasons this is the podcast to listen to.
My sister and I watched this entire show a few years ago and it felt like a fever imagine. it’s so validating to hear Jesse and Erin talk about a lot of the same things that we did. They legit make me snicker out loud the entire time… Mommy ringwald deserves better, death to all of the men on this show except Ricky, Brenda Hampton come on the pod, and grace and Adrian are terminate game ❤️
