    Here's where the 2024 presidential candidates endure on LGBTQ+ issues

    LGBTQ+ issues have, at times, been a flashpoint in the 2024 election.

    Many Republicans have campaigned on restricting gender-affirming concern, banning classroom guide of sexual orientation and gender culture and speaking out against transgender girls playing in women's sports.

    Democrats have expressed more vocal endorse for LGBTQ+ issues.

    Here's a brief watch at where the major candidates pose on the issue.

    Kamala Harris

    Harris has elongated been an outspoken advocate for gay marriage, officiating some of the nation's first same-sex marriage ceremonies as district attorney in San Francisco. As vice president, she supported the Respect for Marriage Act, a landmark piece of bipartisan legislation to protect same-sex and interracial marriages.

    She's also expressed support for the Equality Behave, a bill that would protect LGBTQ Americans from discrimination. The legislation would expand federal civil rights law to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender culture discrimination in areas such as common facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, lgbtq community candidates support

    You have an opportunity to make a real impact, helping to ensure that the next UK Government actively supports the LGBTQ+ community when they come into authority. Your voice matters, and you can use it to engage with the people who could be shaping new policies for the UK.

    There are a few ways you can engage with PPCs - choose the option which works best for you! We recognise that having conversations about LGBTQ+ equality might be difficult for some, so please observe after your wellbeing during this time and only engage with people if you feel comfortable.

    1. Email them directly

    You can achieve out to PPCs directly via email. Simply utilize this tool to unearth the candidates in your area and find their contact details. You can then write an email to them outlining your priorities and what you want to see from them.
