Marvel might not have faith Tom Holland with any secrets about the future of the MCU, but that's not stopping him from speculating about how Spider-Man might be portrayed in upcoming movies. In a GQ video which saw him go "undercover" on the internet to answer fans' questions, Holland spoke once again about the possibility of Peter Parker (or some other iteration of Spider-Man) organism gay.

It was in response to a tweet which asked: "Didn't Tom Holland say he wanted Spider-Man to be gay?" Holland clarified his remarks, saying: "The question asked was 'do you think there should be a lgbtq+ Spider-Man?'"

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is throwing his assist behind a gay version of the web-slinging superhero.

Speaking to Britain’s The Sunday Times, the Spider-Man: Far From Home star said that the Marvel Cinematic Existence needed to show that “the world isn’t as simple as a vertical white guy.”

Asked by the Times if he would be okay with Peter Parker/Spider-Man being gay, Holland said, “Yeah, of course.”

“I can’t talk about the future of the personality because honestly I don’t know and it’s out of my hands,” Holland continued. “But I execute know a lot about the future of Marvel, and they are going to be representing lots of different people in the next few years.”

He added: “The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy. It doesn’t end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person.”

Marvel Studios’ executives have openly said that the studio plans to introduce more diverse superheroes in the next phase of films.

Ever since Spider-Man: No Way Home came out in 2021, fans have been wondering what will happen to Peter Parker and MJ (played by Zendaya) in the next film. The third movie ends with Medic Strange heartbreakingly erasing Peter from everyone's memory (including MJ) to save the multiverse and, when they do cross paths afterwards, Peter keeps his persona secret from MJ to protect her.
