when your gay friend invite you to eat pizza

Hi Autostraddle! It’s me, Vanessa, your community editor! One of my goals for our publication is to publish content that creates and celebrates community! For the past five years, we’ve used the Friday Open Thread to carry out that. But today, as we begin the month of October in 2019, we are changing things up! We will no longer be publishing an official open thread on Fridays – rather, we will leave you with something light and entertainment and weird and homosexual to begin your weekend! You’re welcome to manage these posts like uncover threads, or not! We love you, and we hope you find happiness in the nuggets we will choose to offering you every Friday from now until whenever the world burns!

We were planning to call these posts Pizza Party Friday (PPF) internally, and when I explained the whole principle to our intrepid PPF team, we ended up talking about pizza for…hours. Is pizza the gayest agenda? Honestly maybe. Please enjoy our ~controversial opinions~ below, and let us know how you touch about cauliflower pizza and black olives!

Readers' stories of existence single

It's my birthday in four weeks' time, I asked my three girlfriends to join me for dinner and birthday drinks. One has asked for her husband to join us, but she is pregnant and will be two weeks from her due go out on my birthday so that's perfectly reasonable. The other two didn't request, just assumed and now I'm celebrating my 43rd birthday with three couples. I want to kill myself! (Well not really, but come on.) Lorraine, London

I am a single man of late years who due to nature's whims was never able to include children. I stay daily with the knowledge that to most everyone else, even my possess family, I am strange and somehow different. Gay? Selfish? What kind of person lives alone? In all gentleness to nature, dude, and God, I understand that the world was place up for marriage. It's a convention that serves to structure people's lives and communities, our cultures, and of course love. I choose now to remain single because it appears creature married does not suit me. I long ago gave up fighting the fact that wherever I go, there will be some suspicion. I would only ask that you would tread gently on me. Mark,
