Queer TV to survey this spring
As the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences wrapped up the voting for nominations in its annual race for the Emmy Awards this week, much of Hollywood (and countless fans with favorite contenders of their own) was buzzing with speculation about who and what will be included when the ultimate slate of nominees is announced on July 15 – but just in time for Identity festival Month, GALECA (The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics) has stolen a bit of its thunder.
The second largest show journalists group in the world, GALECA is made up of 560 members who, as the group’s press free proudly states, ”write and work for some of the most respected and buzz-worthy media outlets in the U.S. and beyond.” Last week, the company announced its list of nominees for the 16th Annual Dorian TV Awards, representing the “queer eye’s” choices for the best in television and streaming, among both mainstream and LGBTQ content – and the list of contenders includes an thrilling mix of A-listers, icons, and up-and-coming stars. This year’s performance and tribute categories – all of which are non-gendered – acknowledge such established talent as Beyoncé, Jean Smart, Col

‘Fire Island’ (2022)
Loosely inspired by Pride and Prejudice, Fire Island opens with the novel’s famous first line: “It is a truth universally recognized, that a unpartnered man in possession of a excellent fortune, must be in want of a wife.” But as the film’s protagonist, Noah (Joel Kim Booster), tells the audience, not every man wants a wife — or even a woman — at all.

Well my friends, it is June, which means it’s time for networks to prove how much they care about us through creating new LGBTQ+ programming, and I don’t denote just creating a “Voices of Pride” section on their primary interface that houses all the Homosexual movies in their catalog as well as television they made and cancelled in the past.
Most importantly is that there will be a new season of The Ultimatum: Gay Love, and that will make everything else okay! Furthermore, I am recapping And Just Like That… so if you love witty captions, be sure to check that out.
