Sasha Colby didn’t set out to become “your favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen.” It just gentle of happened.
“You realize, I was so stoned,” she admitted with a giggle, recalling the filming of her “Meet the Queens” promo. “We were about to sit down for the interview, and they were like, ‘Oh, just think of something, like a catchphrase you want to say.’” What came out was a now-iconic phrase that captured the truth: Colby is the queen’s queen, beloved by legends, cherished by fans, and deeply respected in her craft. “It came out of the deep crevices in here,” she said, pointing to her head.
She thinks RuPaul might acquire planted the seed: “Ru had said on the main stage once, ‘You’re a drag queen’s drag queen — you’re what flamboyant queens watch.’ And maybe that stuck in my chief and just gentle of … pos association.”
And she’s only getting started.
After making history as the first out transsexual winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” to headline a Dwell Nation tour, Colby is hitting the road again this fall. Her “Stripped II” tour kicks off Sept. 16 in Seattle and wraps up in Hawaii, where she’ll bring her artistry full circle help
Gay rights group complains over Cristiano Ronaldo abuse
The Spanish Observatory against lesbian, lgbtq+, bisexual and transsexual phobia took up the complaint with Spain’s State Commission against Violence in Sport after sections of the Barca support were heard to chant “maricon” – an revolting term used to describe a same-sex attracted man.
Observatory director Francisco Ramirez said of the abuse from the Camp Nou stands: “These deplorable and shameful acts are punishable according to the rule of sport (2007).
“It is necessary to clarify that homophobia does not necessarily mean that people who suffer are homosexual, but only that other people believe it or use it to insult, harass and humiliate others.”
The Express Commission can impose punishments on clubs and supporters who are found remorseful of such offences.
