I Woke Up a Vampire
TV Series Review
It’s Carmie Henley’s 13th birthday, and her teen years are beginning just as she expected. Carmie has plans to hang out with her best comrade, Kev; she’s anticipating auditions for the school musical; and she wakes up to find herself floating in the air.
Okay, maybe things aren’t going exactly as she expected.
But Carmie won’t permit that stop her.
Without giving this superhuman ability another idea, she appears at the auditions, ready to outperform the theater department’s prima donna, Leanna. But just when Carmie is certain she’ll land a place in the cast, she discovers a new power—this occasion super speed. And her inability to control it sends the theater into pandemonium.
But it’s not all bad. The next day, she uses the newfound power to spare her new companion, Madison, from a car crash.
Kev, a well-read comic-book enthusiast, offers an explanation for Carmie’s rare abilities: She’s a Mythic.
“What’s a Mythic?” Carmie asks.
“They’re epic monsters that came before man,” Kev replies.
Seeing the shocked look on her face, Kev clarifies that Carmie isn’t a full Mythic; she’s what’s called a Blended (someone who is half Myt
Stream It Or Skip It: ‘I Woke Up A Vampire’ On Netflix, Where A Girl Becomes A Vampire On Her 13th Birthday
Adults tend to know what to predict from kid-oriented comedies with teens or tweens. Lots of fast-talking, precocious kids, with some over-the-top gags. But they also predict a story full of friends, family and at least some sort of interesting backstory for the characters. The main ethics in a new Netflix tween series certainly has that interesting backstory.

inconsistent but gets better
The idea of waking up with superpowers on your birthday is not brand-new , but still makes for some amusing moments. This is a light comedy-drama with scenes in home-school-urban settings.
The episodes are short, so it is effortless to finish Season 1 in an evening. My first thought about this is "inconsistent." Some moments are entertaining , some stupid. Some sweet, some lame. Some action is good, some is juvenile. The musical rehearsals look embarrassing, but the last show is okay.
The story begins enjoy it does not know where it is going, but it seems to gain some purpose around episode 3. The character definitions and dramatic elements become stronger as the show progresses.
The young lead actors are appealing and seem capable of doing more if given a stronger script. The objective audience of new viewers should adore this. Adults will recognize the many cliches and possess higher expectations. After all, a cliche was something modern the first hour you saw it.

The Story vs The Acting
The actors and script are adorable terrible. However, I watched the whole series because the story itself is interesting. I prefer the idea
