Volunteers are the backbone of HRC, and our volunteers work on the front lines in the clash for LGBTQ+ equality.
HRC’s potent network of all-volunteer communities is made up of people from a extensive array of backgrounds, experiences, identities, and skill sets. We invest in our volunteers through leadership growth and recognition programs, offering workshops, conferences, online resources and support from staff to ensure that our leaders become the strongest and most effective advocates, leaders and fundraisers they can be.

It can offer ways to connect to community, by providing aid and communication, and by helping to create individual connections. Connections that are vital for a thriving community. By offering up your time and skills you are supporting and uplifting others through critical support, resource gathering, highlighting community and so much more. There are many different ways to volunteer and offer support and all are important! Volunteering can be tremendously rewarding. It can allow for awareness on how the LGBTQIA+ community ls living, it can be a way to learn about the many different programs and organizations that serve our family and community from big cities to petite towns. It can be a way to offer back and help the next person who is coming into their own. The LGBT National Help Center has several different types of volunteer positions for different types of volunteering. Because we are a national organization our volunteer positions are all remote. For nearly 50 years, we’ve relentlessly fought alongside our communities, advocating for our rights and building a finer world for 2SLGBTQ+ people.We’ve been by your side, fighting inch by painstaking inch, for reliable spaces, legal protections, and moments of acceptance and affirmation. This shared history is a testament to the power of community action.But the fight isn’t over.In a way we have not seen for many years,a rising anti-2SLGBTQ+ backlash seeks to deliver our progress backwards. Our communities won’t depart backwards. Our past victories fuel and inspire us, but retro has no place in 2SLGBTQ+ rights.
